Sonora Jha, Ph.D., is a Professor in the Communication Department and Associate Dean for Academic Community, College of Arts and Sciences at Seattle University. She was formerly a journalist in India and Singapore and among her appointments were that of Chief of Bureau and Special Correspondent for The Times of India, the subcontinent's largest English-language daily. A prolific writer, she was a Writer in Residence at the Richard Hugo House and is an alumna and Board President for Hedgebrook Writers' Retreat. Her books include New Feminisms in South Asian Social Media, Film, and Literature (Routledge, 2017) and Foreign (Random House India, 2013)
