PURPOSE 

The Writers Connection assists emerging writers as well as those who've tasted success. We are the home for resources, referrals, and information for all writers. E.C. Murray first published our newsletter, now called Writers Connection, in November 2011 with the mission “to educate aspiring writers and promote local authors.” In the years since, Wendy Hinman joined the team as editor, and we developed this website with our extensive list of resources. We hope to support writers, to learn from each other, to nudge our fellow writers of all genres into more skillful writing. In this vein, we have interviewed successful authors, poets, and screenwriters about how they developed their strong writing so that we can learn from their successes, and sometimes, their failures.

While we began in Gig Harbor and Kitsap County, Washington state, our reach has expanded to include authors in the Puget Sound area from Whidbey Island (Elizabeth George) to Olympia (Jim Lynch) and Seattle (J.A. Jance and many more). Our newsletter is published quarterly and has included interviews with Elizabeth George, Garth Stein, Randall Platt, Erik Larson, Bhardi Kushner, David Guterson, Claire Dederer, AJ Banner, Susan Wiggs, Debbie MacComber, Jonathan Evison and many more.
